Percepção da equipe de saúde e dos familiares da criança sobre a consulta de puericultura

Resumo: Childhood is a period of life in which the human being is biologically vulnerable and requires greater attention at this stage. Thus, the consultation is configured as a childcare facilitator of healthy growth and development monitoring, with the aim of promoting children's health, prevent diseases and aggravations, with a view to higher quality of adult life. From this perspective, this study aims to understand the perception of the team and of the family in relation to the importance of childcare consultation and identify how childcare is part of the daily life of the teams of the Family Health Strategy in the municipality of Maringá-Paraná.This is a qualitative descriptive study, developed in the period of June 2012 to February 2013 in seven teams of the Family Health Strategy, which had 13 health professionals participants linked to the Childcare Program of the teams of the Family Health Strategy of the nucleus and 19 families of children enrolled in the program. For data collection was used the semi-structured interview and non-participan tobservation of the work of health professionals during childcare consultation, documented in writing, in a field journal by researchers. The data were analyzed using content analysis, with thematic mode, from which emerged the thematic categories that make up the study, interpreted in the light of the literature. The results showed that there are some gaps in the implementation and childcare consultation by health professionals and that they did not demonstrate clarity and safety by defining the objectives of this service. The observations showed the lack of systematization of the consultations and then on-observing the parameters established by the Ministry of Health to childcare consultation. The predominant care model was the curativist, centered on medical figure, with fragmented actions, and without the recovery of health promotion precepts and the completeness of the care. The perceptions of family members regardingthe childcare consultation are based on lack of complete and specific clarifications service, reflecting the dynamic care in which they are inserted, implying a flawed monitoring of child health, and strengthening the customer service focused on the disease. In this way, signals the need for adequate and effective recovery of childcare consultation by health professionals linked to pediatric care, in order to ensure the completeness of care to the children and their families. It stresses the importance of permanent education in health actions, with a view to ensuring the provision of theoretical and instrumental grant.
