Resumo: | This work is a qualitative research which main goal was to describe the transition from the worker to manager under the emotions perspective. The employed method was the narrative inquiry that uses, as the central element, the life history told by the managers in the form of a narrative. By telling their histories, this research could access deep layers of their subjectivity and to restore crucial happenings from their past. Three narratives were collected and those histories provided a rich and complex set of data. The narratives were analyzed using the holistic-content approach suggested at Lieblich et al (1998). The theory of emotions was used as a guide for data analysis and interpretation. The result shows the complexity and the singleness of each life history; shows how Kemper (2006) theory of emotions, power and status were capable to describe certain human behavior; and the research shows that anxiety is the most present emotion in the life of those managers. |
