This work is a study about the participation of the rural cooperatives in the social and economic regional space. To reach that aim a case study method was employed getting a great number of information with concrete data. The "COCARI" cooperative case showed an example of the cooperatives role in the changing of the agrarian space in the North region of Paraná State. In this sense the modemization and industrialization processes of the agriculture and the establishment of agroindustries with the active participation of the rural cooperatives, are seen as stages of Agribusiness conformation while the of the intersectorial relations are understood as a dynamic factor itself. So the social economic and cooperative action of the Brazilian Agribusiness was analised through "COCARI"'. Rural productors cooperate were interviewed and their positions were respected which permitted an evaluation of the cooperative importance to them through a sample processo The conclusion was that the cooperative system had and always has a strong influence on the organization of the agricultural and agoindustrial production in the action space, well as in the rural associated productors'life. To overcome the market challenges, the cooperatives face a question about staying and strengthening the enterprises in the economic point of view, improving the rural productors'social growth. the double sense of cooperatives as a business and associative entity is also a subject of discussion because they have a social character but it is not always present in their programs. So emphasizing the social the social aspect having profissionalism together constitutes the cooperarive differential. Social and economic changings by the cooperatives are real although their consequenses depend on the strategies and the way that those enterprises go.
