Resumo: | With the advent of the historical moment called post-modernism, the discursive relations among the subjects underwent transformations, such as identities in crisis because of the loss of the socially crystallized roles, feminism conquers, assaults of the capitalism that produces new discourse about identities. The constitution of the senses about a "new man" produces a new individual, who is worried about vanity, domestic tasks, children upbringing, as well as the image deconstruction of a sexist and patriarchal man present for so long at our society. Having studied this context of changes, this research analyzes discourse that produce senses about the called "new man" in the Brazilian contemporary media. The performing of the analysis was based on the following issues: which conditions of knowledge and power made possible the sprouting of these discourses about the man in the contemporary media? How the masculine subject's identities are currently constituted? Which is the role of media in this discursive production? Which effects of senses are produced in this identitary discursive production? In which way are the subjects placed in this discourse? The studies on Discourse Analysis about how the new man is being regarded by media and which conditions make these discourses possible are recent, and still need researches that try to understand this thematic. Thus, the relevance of this research consists of contributing with the existing discussions on the masculine identity displacement in the contemporaneous time, that, from steady and unified, passed to be discontinuous, fragmented, and unstable. The analysis and the considerations made during the development of this dissertation were based on relations between cultural studies, discursive production of the identity, arqueogenealogical method developed by Michel Foucault and its contributions for the discourse analysis that take media as inquiry field. This theory allowed the formation of an enunciative series concerning the subject as well as the understanding that new discourses on the man can be seen as a discursive event, from which other texts emerge, senses are retaken, dislocated, and interdicted, forming, thus, a "file" (FOUCAULT, 1972), that conducts an enunciability system that subjects the modern man. |
