Resumo: | Along the continuous interesting increasing in the various fields industries in luminescent materials, also growing the need to obtain luminescent materials that shows more efficiency. The aim of this work is the study of Eu-doped calcium aluminosilicate glasses luminescent properties as a function of silica matrix content. The first step of this work was to develop the experimental setup and acquisition software routine, following the samples optical excitation and emission measurements performance. The developed routine allows the control and data acquisition to obtain luminescence spectra, both emission and excitation mode. Contour plots of the excitation/emission were obtained from emission spectral which were used to analyze luminescent properties of the system. The results showed for low silica concentration the luminescence is mainly due to trivalent ion emission, while the Eu2+ emission intensity increasing significantly as a function of rising silica content, as well as, the emission band shift towards lower wavelength. These results were attributed to the decreasing of glasses optical basicity, which occurs due to silica addition influencing in the europium ion interaction with crystal field. |
