The Água é Vida Movement is an entity of the social movement in Feira de Santana town, formed by religious, community leaderships, teachers and technicians that has got visibility in the town when it joined plants of entities and leaderships against the privatization of Embasa and in favor of the sanitation, protection of the environment and public health as politician and service. This research aimed to analyze the action of that specific entity of the social movement – The Água é Vida Movement: in Defense of water and Health – about the effectively of the public policies of health and environment in Feira de Santana. The research also aimed described the historical trajectory of “The Água é Vida Movement”, as well as analyze the objectives, principles and actions and also describe the possible obstacles and the perspectives of the entity in Feira de Santana town. The research had qualitative approach like study of the case. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews, free observations and analysis of documents, the members who represented the entities were the subjects of this study. The final analyses of the data followed the purposed ways of contents in a critical perspective. From the action of that entity it was possible to analyze the process of citizenship construction of certain segments of the civil society related to the public power, its conflicts and consensus forms. The results presented are about an extremely actuation of the entity with the capacity of joining a big number of other groups from the social movement in the town, articulated in a perception of politics reasonable large with proposals and interventions in the field of public politics as in the health field as environment and basic sanitation. As perspective they intend to act more and more in the dimension of the social control in health, or on going process to the representation in Health Municipal Council, conferences and regional meetings or stimulating the creation of Health Local Council, this same group, however has faced some difficulties about the expansion of popular participation, and some dilemma about its relation with the public power in the forums, besides that to confront some difficult to sponsor its actions. |
