Resumo: Triorla Parks, 1968 (Asilidae, Apocleinae) is a neotropical genus, except to Triorla interrupta Macquart (1834), wich has a wide distribution in the neotropical region, and also recorded in the nearctic region. At the moment, ten species are recognized for Triorla: Triorla interrupta (Mcquart, 1834), Triorla striola (Fabricius, 1805), Triorla parastriola Pamplona & de Cima Aires, 1999, T. argyrogaster (Macquart, 1846), T. demifasciata (Macquart,1850), T. nervosus (Macquart, 1838), T. spinosa Tomasovic, 2002, T. trichina Tomasovic, 2002, T. vicina (Macquart, 1846) and T. tibialis (Macquart, 1838). From Brazil, are recorded only two species, T. striola and T. parastriola , although several speciems remins unrecognized in brazilian collections. So far, no key to species of Triorla is available. Besides, the diagnostic charecters of the genus must be reviewed. The objective of this study was to provide a new diagnosis to the genus Triorla, as well as a key to especies, and identify the brazilian species. It was studied 119 specimens of the genus from the following Brazilian states: Amazonas, Pará, Roraima, Bahia, Ceará, São Paulo, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. These specimens were loaned from four Brazilian institutions, Museu de Zoologia da Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana, MZUEFS; Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia, INPA; Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo, MZUSP and Museu Parense Emílio Goeldi, GOELDI. It was studied one male paratype of Triorla parastriorla Pamplona & de Cima Aires. In this paper it is presented a diagnosis for the genus, and a key to species. It is described four new species of Triorla: Triorla sp. nov. a, Triorla sp. nov. b, Triorla sp. nov. c and Triorla sp. nov. d. Two species previously described in Triorla, T. tibialis and T. vicinus, were excluded of Triorla because they do not have the diagnostic characters of the genus, however, no proposal is offered to the generic classification of these two species, mainly for lack of a comprehensive study of the genera of Apocleinae. It is proposed twelve species for Triorla. The original description and a free translation is offered to the previously described species, and a complete description is offered to the new species. Maps of geographical distribution is provided to the species of Triorla.
