Resumo: The present study states about Ukrainian singing and its educational processes in immigrant offspring communities of this ethnic group in the State of Paraná, Brazil. Considering the strong presence of vocal polyphony in Ukrainian communities scattered throughout the State, it is possible to diagnose that singing is legitimized as a cultural intangible heritage since the arrival of the first Ukrainian immigrants to Brazil. From an ethnomusicological perspective, singing therefore forms the cultural identity of the Ukrainian community. However, it is relevant to understand how Ukrainian singing has remained in this social group for almost two centuries in Brazil. Thus, this study aims to understand the educational processes that maintain and legitimize Ukrainian singing as cultural identity, points out the Ukrainian singing in its symbolic character in the understanding of memory for the group, and to identify the social function of Ukrainian singing in the culture of their offspring in two communities in the State of Paraná: in Santa Maria do Oeste and in the Ukrainian Folk Group Poltava in the city of Curitiba; as well as to know these communities from their vocal musical production. Through an ethnographic approach, this research develops a descriptive study of both referred communities. For the Educational Field, this reflection emphasizes non-formal teaching and learning processes, which occurs in the daily cultural composition of the studied communities.
