In this research, we archeologically investigated the knowledge production which contributed for the consolidation of the discipline of linguistics in Brazil from 1953 to 1968, as of a memory archive published by the UFPR`s Revista Letras. We mobilized the theoretical and methodological contributions of the French Discourse Analysis, more precisely those established from the "dialogues" between Michel Foucault and Michel Pêcheux. The main objective of the research is to discursively analyze the (trans)formation of discourses that address the language, focusing on the sociohistoric moment in which the sayings, on the purpose of a science of language, began to have "sayability". Our specific objectives are composed by: (I) investigated the historical practices, as well as the statements existence conditions, which constituted for the linguistics in Brazil, mobilizing as analytical categories the concepts of statement, of archive and of memory; (II) describe the networks of power-knowledge which influenced the discourses about Linguistics; (III) reconstitute what led to the emergence of some discursive events and the removal of others whose results pointed to the current state of the linguistics studies in its several specificities. In our archive, materialized in 54 articles of the Revista Letras, in the dispersion of statements, we found regularities and the positively which forms new discourses about the institutionalization of Linguistics, observing the manifestations of discourses as part of knowledge and power. Looking into the past, we problematize the place of Mattoso Câmara Jr. in the institutionalization of Linguistics, a place surrounded by complexes relations of knowledge-power and by games of truths which cause silencing and erasing. Aiming, as well, other discourses, in the journal, we noticed some relations and regularities as for the: (i) constant publication of Mansur Guérios; (ii) the predominance of a dialectologic discourse; (iii) statements which maintain a traditional grammatical approach; (iv) a philological point of view and statements which present effects of founding senses of a new stage in the Linguistics. The surveying of this research allow us to approach several subjects little explored and comprehend, as for the ways in which the linguistics knowledge has produced, developed, was disseminated and perceived, once they reconstitute and lead to the current stage of the linguistics studies in Brazil.
