This work presents a critical analysis of the bookXente de Inverno (1995), of the Galician author Xosé Lois García, with a theoretical referential which includes assumptions about memory and collective memory from the point of view of theoreticians like Halbwachs (2004) Seligmann-Silva (2013) e Bosi (2009); the conceptions about autobiographical bridge of Lejeune (2014) and the confessional literature of Remédios (1997); the conceptions of engagement of Denis (2002); the relationship between literature and society of Candido (2010); the theory about history and narration of Benjamin (1987); and between history and literature from theoreticians like Chartier (2000), Lima (1989), Vargas Llosa (1990), Abdala Junior (2007); and the resistence in the literature from the perpective of Bosi (1996). The research methodology involves critical and analytical study, lined in literature review and literary analysis of the work, with the aims of: understand how memory, history and fiction become linked in the literary text in order to make the work a political resistance expression; demonstrate to what extent the relationship between literature and history fall to work on a literary tradition and engagement and to make explicit how the literary text contributes for the rescue and conservation of Galician identity. The relevance of the study manifests by the clarification of the political and social dimension of the author`s work, also by the contribution to the literary studies in the sense of placing the importance of Xosé Lois García in Galician Literature.
