This work was developed in order to propose improvements in the performance of graduation ceremonies at the State University of the Center-West (UNICENTRO), specifically, those performed at the the Santa Cruz campus, located in the city of Guarapuava in Paraná. The strategy developed to achieve the proposed goal was through the evaluation of the post-event phase of the graduations ceremonies carried out in 2019. The evaluation was made by the application of structured interviews, seeking to understand the expectations, the level of satisfaction and the suggestions of the graduates, teachers and employees who participated in the event. In addition to the application of structured interviews, participant observation was also carried out, both at meetings between class representatives, companies and the graduation ceremony commission, and on the day of the event, being part of the support team, observing and recording the notes in the field diary. In turn, the analysis of this information was performed based on the triangulation of the collected data. As a way to complement the collection of information, the SWOT analysis was used, which made it possible to analyze the strengths and weaknesses, threats and opportunities both internally and externally in relation to the preparation of the event, thus contributing, as a final result, to the suggestions of improvement in the planning and organization of this type of event. With the results obtained, it was possible to verify that the participants of the event consider that the event is very well planned, however, the graduates reported not knowing in detail the procedures adopted by the institution for conducting the graduation ceremonies. Other observation refers to the dissemination of information to other students, since the meetings are only for class representatives, who end up not disclosing the information to others. Regarding the day of the event, its participants considered it as “well organized”, with a support team trained and prepared to provide all the necessary support. However, as it is a professional master's degree, as a practical result of this work, a graduation ceremony guide was prepared, as a way to standardize and facilitate the planning and organization of the ceremonies, bringing all relevant information to all stages of the process. It is hoped, therefore, that with the results obtained from this work, the achievements of the next events can be optimized, due to a greater understanding of all involved. |
