Resumo: |
This study had the objective to assess the biomass productivity of Eucalyptus species and provenances planted at different spacings. The genotypes were planted in four spacings, namely: a) 2 m x 2 m; b) 2 m x 1 m; c) 1 m x 1 m and d) 1 m x 0,5 m, as a combined test of species and provenances. The seedlots were collected in ACS and APS, at some localities in southern Brazil: Curitiba, PR; Canoinhas, SC; Irineópolis, SC; Porto União, SC; Major Vieira, SC; Santa Cecília, SC and Ijuí, RS. There were collected 10 seedlots from four species: four lots of Eucalyptus benthamii Maiden et Cambage, four lots of Eucalyptus dunnii Maiden, one lot of Eucalyptus saligna Smith and one lot of Eucalyptus viminalis Labill. Each seedlot hat about 2000 seeds. Seeds were sown in individual containers in a greenhouse under uniform conditions of substrate, fertilization, irrigation, temperature and density. The experimental area is located in Canoinhas, in the Northern Santa Catarina Plateau. The area was prepared performing weed removal, ant control and subsoiling to the depth of 40 cm. The experiment was established in a randomized complete block design, with 10 blocks. Each block had four plots representing the four spacings and 10 sub-plots representing the 10 seedlots, in a total of 40 treatments. Each sub-plots had four, eight, 16 and 32 trees. Starting at the third month after planting, measurements were performed for height and diameter at 0.30 m. Four measurements were done with a three-month interval between measurements. Biomass production was evaluated by sampling. There were determined fresh weight and dry weight. Data was statistically analyzed by ANOVA and Tukey test at 5%. Regarding the four spacings it was observed at age 12 months that larger the spacing greater were the values of height and diameter at 0.30 m. The opposite was observed for biomass production/ha where smaller the spacing higher was the production. Regarding the growth of provenances, best performance for height was presented by seedlot D7 E. dunnii ACS from Major Vieira, while for diameter at 0,30 m D5 E. dunnii APS from Santa Cecília was the best. For and biomass two provenances had superior performance: D5 E. dunnii APS from Santa Cecília and D6 E. dunnii ACS from Canoinhas. |
