The Alto da Lagoa neighborhood, located in the southwestern part of the city of Irati-PR, popularly known as "Morro da Formiga", is a territory that has undergone a form of unequal urbanization, was populated mainly by people coming from flood-affected areas of the city center and also by people from the interior of the municipality, seeking better living conditions. In their formation, there are cultural diversities, socio-economic problems and many life histories. The research addresses, in the first chapter, the history of the city of Irati, how was the urbanization and creation of neighborhoods. The second chapter covers the process of creating the Alto da Lagoa neighborhood, the political dealings and the modes found for the construction of houses. The third chapter speaks of the self-construction and daily life of the residents of Morro da Formiga. Oral History was of great importance in this research to understand the social, cultural and economic relationships, as well as to perceive the forms of leisure that residents created. Finally, the objective of this dissertation is to investigate the daily practices of the residents of Morro da Formiga, in Irati, in order to demonstrate that it is not only of bad things that this neighborhood is formed, both explored by the local media, but, by collectivism, relations of reciprocity and solidarity that helped and help residents and residents live better, aiming at the constitution of a pleasant neighborhood to live in. |
