Resumo: |
Exploring the presence of postmodern elements in the narrative and structure of the television series Lost, this work aims at identifying issues related to the decentralization of the postmodern subject, his fragmented identity and his disbelief regarding metanarratives. The analysis also comprises the narrative structure of the series, since its transmediality permeates the media to the point of making the viewer to be surrounded by the narrative in their daily lives. Therefore, the research is divided in three chapters. The first is an approach to theories of postmodernity. The second provides an overview of how the television series, in general, are structured and categorized. From this, we attempt to identify whether the transmedia characteristics, especially in Lost, could be considered an innovation within the serial repetition. Finally, the third chapter will bring the analysis of three characters from the series, and will seek to demonstrate that marks of postmodernity are present in their actions, in their dialogues and relationships. We conclude that the fiction, as presented in the series, causes reflections about key issues of the history and development of humanity. |
