Resumo: |
The objective of this study was to investigate the final destination of the solid waste generated by the activities developed in the retail supermarket of Prudentópolis (PR) and its social, economic and environmental impacts. For this, methodological procedures were used bibliographical, descriptive-exploratory and the study of multiple cases, being the approach of the problem by the qualitative method. The main results show that the retail supermarket does not assume responsibility for the final destination of its waste, which is in charge of outsourced services contracted and paid by the Municipality of Prudentópolis (PR). Regarding environmental aspects, the study showed that the companies' practices are deficient, since the companies do not have specific dumps for the separation and their correct packaging of the waste, and most of the waste goes to the common waste. The research pointed out concern on the part of the managers in relation to the environmental problems, nevertheless did not observe defined practices and actions of improvements. In the socioeconomic facts, one of the companies has social support, since it allocates part of the leftovers of the bakery to four charitable institutions and ten needy families. Economically, companies have great annual losses, and the hortifrúti sector generates the most losses. Finally, the companies investigated are not aware of the Federal Law 12.305 / 2010 of the National Solid Waste Plan and the Municipal Law 2,254 / 2017 of the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan, thus failing to comply with any of the directives imposed by the relevant solid waste legislation. |
