Resumo: | The quality of teaching is also related for the teachers practices in the classroom. These practices may fail to attrack the interest of the students, generating demotivation and, consequently, low school performance. Activities elaborated in order to call attention to the concepts involved, and to maintain the attention during the approach of the subject, can help to improve the quality of the learning process. Captivating experiments associated with potentially meaningful pedagogical practices assists in concentration, maintaining the focus during the explanation. In this work, a theoretical and practical pedagogical material concerning subjects of nuclear physics and nuclear radiation detectors was proposed, introducing topics of contemporary physics in the classroom, experimentally, with easily found materials. It presents a detailed description of the assembly of an alpha particle spark detector, tests of its operation and various activities that can be carried out with it. These practical and evaluative activities are suggested based on the analyses of implementations carried out in various classrooms, in which good acceptance, commitment and approval were obtained by the involved teacher and the students. |
