Resumo: This research analyses what the literary reading`s conceptions and practices are, as linked at literature teaching in the context of the rural school, in view of the Paraná`s Rural Education Curricular Guidelines had been providing a different methodology related to the contents that will be worked in this context. That way, we had look for identifying what the specificity of the literature teaching at the rural school is, reflecting if the literature, as cultural value, could be treated as an immediate content; identifying what reading`s practice are pertinent to this context and also checking how the pedagogic documents standardize the teachings. For this, we analyze the literature teachings and the literary reading according to the Curricular Guidelines to Portuguese Language in the Basic Education and Rural School`s Guidelines have showed the relevance that those documents have to the daily literature`s practices inside classes. We also aimed to analyze how the Politic Pedagogic Project and Teaching Plan from the rural school researched approach the epistemological question about the literature teaching and what the methodologist forwarding proposed to the literary reading practice at class are, and if they are articulated to the official documents. We also aimed, whit the data collected from the field research, crossing this analyze with the classes` practices. From the theoretical point of view, we were referenced at Bakhtin`s studies, the Aesthetics of Reception Literary Theory from Jauss and Iser, presented by Zilberman, Bordini and Aguiar, beside authors like Candido, Barthes and Todorov about literary reading and the aesthetics pleasure. About the school curriculum and culture we had brought authors like Furquin and Heller, in addition to Caldart, Arroyo, Molina and Leite which present studies about Rural Education`s specificities. About the researches taking the reader subject as targe, it was analyzed the developed works like Colomer, Annie Rouxel, Dalvi and Rezend, beyond others researchers.
