Resumo: This research had as its theme the process of non-formal education in traditional faxinal communities, which represent a typical culture of the south central region of the state of Paraná, Brazil. The axis of analysis was the non-formal education practiced by the Apprentice Movement of Wisdom- MASA and Articulação Puxirão dos Povos Faxinalenses-APF, in the faxinal community of Marmeleiro de Baixo, in the Municipality of Rebouças, State of Paraná. The aim of this study was to understand the teaching and learning processes of non-formal education that collaborate to maintain the faxinal identity. In the historical dimension, these groups had their identities denied, living a social invisibility, being often marginalized and expropriated for maintaining a traditional way of life. This process has contributed to the weakening of several traditional practices and knowledge, with the risk of disappearance due to the repression and deterritorialization phases of the community. Thus, the research analyzed the process of non-formal education through the investigation of documents produced by the movements, such as: booklets, fascicles, bulletin, reports, laws and decrees. It was hoped to understand how the educative praxis of these movements and their implications for the strengthening of the Faxinalense identity were given. The research was based theoretically on the transformations occurring in the community, on the concepts of non-formal education in the specific work of document analysis in the various dimensions of non-formal education. Academic research has shown the importance of educational processes of social movements based on content directly related to the subjects that participate in non-formal education.
