This study aims at understanding which are the opportunities the Brazilian National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI) should identify in order to foster a review of its strategy concerning innovation funding to attain better results for the Brazilian manufacturing firms in their process of launching new products in the market. This study draws on a review of the scientific literature related to innovation, innovation funding and innovation management as a strategy for innovation. A qualitative approach was chosen in order to perform the present research in SENAI. The data were collected in SENAI, through documental analysis and by interviewing project managers. The data collection stage was followed by comparative, statistical and documental analysis. The results demonstrate an attempt to enhance this instrument along its 12 editions, although the documental analysis of the editions as well as the opinion of the managers and the theoretical frame of working, show that there is still a necessity to improve fundamental items related to projects submission and their management. |
