This work discusses the practice of handiwork with patches, patchwork and its repercussions in the world of the female artisan. It carries as an epistemological basis the phenomenology of Mearlau-Ponty, a philosopher who much reflected upon the logos of the esthetical-intelligent world and about arts. The phenomenology of Gaston Bachelard is also present, an author devoted to the deepening of reflections about the psychology of amazement, the psychology of the present being and the psychology of reverie. It was tracked the way of action-research in a group with sixteen artisan women. The action-research developed by Ren?? Barbier is presented as a phenomenological way, provided it also acknowledges the importance of the world experienced in life and studies the phenomenon from the awareness which is corporeal. It also ascertains that there is one constant subject-object interaction, I-Other, an interlacement among that which is individual and universal. In the appropriation of the action-research account, happiness, empathy, and sensible-listening were perceived as powerfull integrative forces of bright and dark patches of each female artisan life. Several personal changes were perceived along the hole process, ending in collective patchwork. This work concludes by proposing patchwork as a metaphor for the human existence. |
