Resumo: |
This work presents as a general theme the operation of the technological park “Porto Digital,” located in Recife (PE). This project is an enterprise, focused on the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, whose annual economic turnover is approximately R$ 2.86 billion. In view of this, this research aimed to critically analyze the discursive processes about the business and social performance of Porto Digital. For the construction of its theoretical-methodological contribution, it resorted to the studies of Fairclough (2001) on Critical Discourse Analysis, Thompson (1995) to discuss the concept of ideology, and Gramsci (1971) to discuss the idea of hegemony. Regarding its methodology, it adopted a qualitative analytical model, being conducted interviews with shopkeepers from the Recife District and residents of the Pilar Community. Furthermore, it was analyzed the Porto Digital documentation to understand how power relations are discursively constituted, so that they can create new social practices in the region under observation. As a result, it was possible to identify the presence of a neoliberal ideology, whose discursive order aims to ensure the maintenance and permanence of the dominance of the business community, which, in turn, is institutionalizing as an agent of transformation in the city of Recife with the sanction of public power. |
