Resumo: |
The adopted model of agriculture in the northeast of Brazil, has caused the degradation of the caatinga, reducing the soil productive capacity, income generation and food security in the semi-arid region. The preservation of the caatinga, fixing the man to the field, their well-being, coupled with income generation, are possible factors of sustainability and local development. The objective of this work was to analyze the production system and the insertion of agroecological practices adopted by farmers of Vista Alegre settlement in the city of Quixeramobim, Ceará. research was developed with families, obtained the following results: The study noted that 100% families adopt the practice of organic fertilization, the use of manure of cattle, about 90% for farmers not to clear forests, nearly 80% of settlers do not effect burnings, about 90% of the producers do not use pesticides. These practices seem to be essential to the performance of family agriculture, maintenance and/or improvement of fertility of agroecosystems, are important tools for the sustainability of agricultural production, and lower level of dependence on external inputs and reducing the costs of production. |
