Resumo: |
Metals of body-centered cubic structure that contain heavy interstitial solutes, such as oxygen and nitrogen in solid solution, present anelastic relaxation peaks when submitted to cyclic tensions, due to the process called stress-induced ordering. In this work were analyzed Nb and Nb-1%Zr polycrystalline samples with different concentrations of interstitial solutes, for distinct experimental conditions, where the effect of content of oxygen element in the anelastic relaxation spectra was studied. Internal friction and oscillation frequency measurements was a function of temperature were performed in a Kê-type inverted torsion pendulum, which work in oscillation frequencies of 1 Hz to 10Hz, operating in a temperature range of 300 K to 650 K with a heating rate of 1K/min, under a pressure lower than 4 x 10¡6 Torr. We observe which for lower concentrations of the interstitial solutes oxygen and nitrogen in Nb the preferential occupation of the interstitial sites is the octahedral type. With the increase of the interstitial solute oxygen the internal friction peak associated to interstitial oxygen presence for Nb sample introduced a asymmetric broadening and a shifting for high temperature regions, this phenomenon due to double occupation of the interstitial sites in BCC lattice of the niobium. The presence of substitutional element Zr affect the random distribution of the interstitial solutes, not being observed anelastic relaxation structure for interstitial impurities concentration lower which the double concentration of the concentration of the substitutional element. |
