The goal of this work was develop an free educational computation tool that automates the nonlinear geometric analysis (by simple and approximate methods), the design and classification based on displacement for planar frames. The classification is made by simple method (B1 and B2) give in the NBR8800:2008, that define the structures in lower, median and high displacement. The Knowledge of the displacement classification will provide the type of analysis and nonlinearities to consider. The free source code allows the continuation of the project and the emergence of new research related to the topic.The development of this tool with a graphical and iterative interface wrote in Object-Pascal language will turn the analysis process more practical to educational or professional works. The use of this tool in steel structures contents of civil engineer courses and the knowledge of the type of analysis that must be use, from the displacement classification, are the results. Through educational parameters implemented in this computational tool, we hope to contribute to a better dynamic in the disciplines of design of steel structures in civil engineering courses in Brazil. |
