Resumo: | The appropriation of electronic and digital technologies in the course of twentieth century and early twenty-first century has enabled the emergence of musical expression modes, body exploration and aesthetic experience that differ from those performed from acoustic musical instruments. In this context, we highlight the use of biological signal sensors as devices for body information capture, which are used to generate and trigger sonorities. The research investigates the implications of this type of performance for music and arts, seeking to highlight the specific elements that emerge from the relationship between body and technology. Thus, the main concepts that compose this form of art, such as biophysical energy, integral musical control, transduction and biofeedback are analysed. Moreover, the work highlights how the engagement of artists with the electronic medium can be seen as a form of appropriation and expansion of relations with technologies. The result of research points out to the fact that body and technology operate as a unity in biophysical performance, composing a hybrid aesthetic machine. |
