Resumo: |
This thesis focus on study the agroecological and organic producers who sell their production at the Rômulo Telles Organic Fair, in Porto Alegre/RS. The main goal of this research aims to understand how the organic producers of Feira Orgânica Rômulo Telles, in Porto Alegre, see themselves in everyday practice. As specific objectives were defined: Identify and characterize the construction of the ethos of organic agriculture from its legal, political and social structural formations; Recognize the daily life of the organic farmer based on their practices as a subject and social collective – together with the family and in relationships with their peers; To analyze how power relations are constituted in the intervention environments of the organic farmer at the Rômulo Telles Organic Fair; To analyze the contexts of socialization of organic farmers with their base communities and their neighbors, scrutinizing their practices tensioned with the discourses established in situations of alterity. The thesiswas developed from an ethnography carried out in the environment of the Fair and in the properties of the producers, from visits in which I carried out interviews and participant observations. The information was treated from the discourse analysis, choosing the categories of daily life, family and work for the understanding and presentation of data and information. To support the recognition of the field were used the theorectical approach of authors like Bourdieu (1996; 2000); Certeau (1998); Giddens (2000); Velho (1994) and Goffman (1985). Among the authors mentioned and who discuss related topics, such as agriculture, agroecology and ruralities, I highlight: Almeida (1986); Carneiro (2013); Schneider (2003); Tedesco (1998) and Woortmann (2018).As result, It was possible to identify that the organic producer/farmer uses the field of agroecological and organic production to forge their discourses, their praxis, and the fundamental aspects of their peasant ethos. He appropriates the knowledge and symbologies that constitute agroecology and organic production in the construction of his identity, developing values that give him distinction. However, not everyone has the same goals, or articulates in the same way to achieve their intentions. While for some agroecology is a purpose of life, others use it according to the possibilities that present themselves, and a third subject appropriates these values because he understands that it is an opportunity in a growing market. |
