The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of external bleaching agents in bovine and human dental enamel. There were evaluated different products commercially available for performing tooth whitening: whitening toothpastes and carbamide peroxide gels and hydrogen used in at-home technique, supervised by the dentist. The action of the dental bleaching creams was evaluated in two different substrates: human and bovine dental enamel. Due to differences in application protocols of bleaching products and methodologies of the studies, these were divided into three chapters: Chapter 1: Article 1: Effect of different whitening toothpastes on the roughness and surface topography of dental enamel. Chapter 2: Article 2: Effect of different whitening toothpastes on the roughness and surface topography of human tooth enamel. Chapter 3: Article 3: Analysis of color change, surface roughness and topography of bovine dental enamel submitted to different home bleaching agents. |
