Resumo: Based on notions about the Imaginary of Cities, Culture and Sociology of Childhood and the use of events to produce experiences, this dissertation seeks to understand the child's experience in the Natal Luz event and its relationship with the dynamization of rites from the imaginary of cities. The methodology, with a qualitative focus, covered, in addition to bibliographic research, ethnography, whose field was carried out during the 2020 edition of the Natal Luz event. The immersion, carried out in the midst of the new Coronavirus pandemic, lasted 42 days and was divided primarily into three locations located in the municipality of Gramado: Aldeia do Papai Noel, Vila de Natal and Rua Coberta. Among the results presented, it is possible to highlight an identification of three dimensions that operate directly on the child's experience in the event: Dimension of the flows, that points out particularities in the way participants move through the different spaces, as well as interact with the attractions; Dimension of the imaginary of cities, responsible for listing that the elements generated by the various locations participate and influence the child's experience in the festivity; and Dimension of rituals, which demonstrates that the rites, especially linked to Christmas, impacts on the ways of acting and relating to the analyzed public.
