Resumo: |
The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of biodiesel pilot production from frying oil was performed. The scope includes from the collection stage of frying oil, extraction and processing of raw materials, to the production of biodiesel. The functional unit chosen was the production of 300kg of biodiesel. For comparative assessment of the current structure of the unit was developed alternative scenarios derived from the original version of the unit. The categories of impact selected for this evaluation were potential of climate change, ozone depletion, acidification and terrestrial depletion of fossil resources. Was visualized that variations of scenarios may result to impacts avoided and minimization of material use. Can be observed that the simple addition of alternative processes can collaborate with increase of emissions and variations of scenarios interchange internal values of Life Cycle Assessment and the final results may conceal what is happening during the process. Finally, this work brings ways to minimize the impacts of producing unit of biodiesel, basing choices on results and numerical expressions, in addition to environmental criteria. |
