Resumo: |
This dissertation addresses the religious or social fears among Italian descendants in Rio Grande do Sul e their potential relationship with medieval residualities. It is assumed that studies about the theme Italian immigration and its possible setbacks have overlooked several aspects, including the fears to be dealt with in this study. Nevertheless, its purpose is also to redirect thinking in favour of an analysis in the light of medieval reminiscences which are related specifically to what happened in the Italian peninsula; and therein, related to those regions from where waves of migrants departured to Brazil, as from 1875. Thus, scouring the matter in this perspective fears and the associated mindset means considering the dinamics of the migration process Italy-Brazil, since mid of the 1870s, and domestic migration processes thereafter. This historical aspect immigration and its consequences and the object fears and their relationship with medieval roots are the central research interest. |
