This dissertation is built in two volumes: the novel Rodolfo and the critical essay about its writing. It is a known fact it's impossible to create from nothing: every artist builds on their references, their experience and their cultural repertory to make their own work. In the essay, I seek reflection on my external influences and on the internal creation movements that articulates and transformed those stimuli. Based on a diary I kept for two years, I reflect on cinema, silence, fairy tales and politics to embrace part of the fiction work universe. In this essay, I try to undergo an intimate exam of my creating process building the novel, analyzing issue like character creation, narrator creation and road stories, besides writing challenges. |
