Resumo: |
This work has as subject the possible application of the criminal policies of left new realism to the Brazilian police, which regards to the Maria da Penha Law. The research starts with a brief review of theoretical postulates of traditional criminology, approaching the observations made by the theorists of critical criminology and controversial issues present in their assumptions. In response to critical criminology, the left realism emerges as an attempt to find an adequate understanding of the crime, the criminal and the crime phenomenon, within the socio-political and economic context in which they are produced. The coping crime policies advocated by this school of thought are also identified. Then there is the creation of specialized police departments in Assistance to Women, as well as the creation of Maria da Penha Law. Throughout the study of the Maria da Penha Law and the National Pact to Combat Violence against Women, a Federal Government’s project, the aim is to make an initial understanding at the viability of new left realism to Brazilian police. It concludes with the criminology arguments about the creation of these policies and, above all, the Maria da Penha Law. Thus, after analyzing the activities developed by Brazilian police and criminal policies affirmed by the left new realism, seeks to make the proposed analysis. |
