Resumo: |
The main objective of this work is to understand the Argentine female dramaturgy of the 20th century in two distinct stages. First, by Alfonsina Storni and her play Polixena y la Cocinerita; then, with Beatriz Guido in the work Soledad y el Incendiario which, although it is classified as a photonovel, was considered as a theatrical text, observing that it contains many characteristics in common with the drama and also with the statement of Emil Staiger (1975). According to him, any text can be adapted to the stage, as long as the author has the science and knowledge of the theatrical scope. The main question this research wanted to answer was: considering the strong modernizing impulse of the 20th century in Buenos Aires and all the changes caused in the cultural environment, which historical elements from this period of urbanization and modernity can be found and analyzed in the plays already mentioned, by Alfonsina Storni and Beatriz Guido? Therefore, the discussion of the work focused on the search for historical marks in the period in which these writers lived, contextualized in a process of Argentine modernization, especially in their capital, Buenos Aires. The outline of this dissertation is based on the concepts of representatividade, by Angel Rama; modernidade tardia, by Ana Pizarro, which showed modernity in Latin America in the 20th century as a whole and respecting the specific development of each region; and cultura de mescla, by Beatriz Sarlo, who defined the moment in Buenos Aires mainly between the 1920s and 1930s. The three notions prize the continent's historical perspective, which is key to discuss such past situations in the literary text. Examining the works of Storni and Guido, one can see that both put on the scene women who portray society at the time, clashing with historical periods in which female visibility was questioned. Thus, the investigation considers the representation of women as a reference in the Argentine urban space and also in Latin American modernity, which is what is indicated in the plays. The study also contemplates an overview of Argentine theater in the most important phases of the 20th century. Also, as the main theoretical orientation, there are authors who approach theater in its historical relationship, articulating topics with the plays by Storni and Guido. |
