Thinking in school management, as intrinsic daily activities in school, is to reflect on the changes of paradigms school. This study deals with the role of Manager in the daily school education institutions in the city of Porto Alegre. Aims to analyze the profile of the School Manager today, through a short historical explanation of the development of the role of Manager within schools. For the research, a qualitative methodology was used and in situ observations of everyday life managers chosen to perform the same. Considerations were developed from an analysis of observations, adopting categories of analysis: the training school manager, operations manager of the school, diversity of school management as the sphere of education that the school is located. The survey was conducted in schools Palotti Vincent College, Municipal School of Education Báscia Dr. Liberato Salzano Vieira da Cunha and Municipal School Belchior John Marques Goulart. The choice was made through the results of IDEB each school and also the availability of managers. The theoretical framework is based on analyzes of Luck, Colombo, Andreotti and Seco. The results express how occur pedagogical and administrative processes of the School Management in schools analyzed. The constant search for results and information about the role of the School Manager is exposed throughout the text, as well as search results.
