This is qualitative research at an explanatory level, guided by the dialectical-critical method, based on historical materialism. It is based on documentary and empirical research. Documentary research was developed through legislation, plans, programs and decrees that include normative frameworks for Social Service and academic productions of Dissertations and Theses linked to Postgraduate Programs in Social Service, Brazil was defined as a geographical delimitation, from 1990 to 2020 for documentary research. The empirical research was carried out through thirteen semi-structured interviews and a focus group with social workers from companies, reaching a total of seventeen Social Service professionals, from the five regions of the country, being North, Northeast, Southeast, Central-West and South. Data processing was carried out through thematic analysis (SOUZA, 2019) compatible with the content analysis of Bardin (2009). The present study analyzes that historically the social worker is required to work in the company, a professional role that continues to this day. The data point to the multiple possibilities of the social worker's work in the company, from the perspective of consolidating the Professional Ethical-Political Project. Professionals work in the planning, management, operationalization and evaluation of projects, programs and social policies. It is examined that social workers have theoretical appropriation regarding the legislation that advocates the guarantee of users' rights, values and principles that anchor professional work, in this way, alignment with ethical precepts is evident. Social Service politicians. The work of the social worker contributes to enabling rights related to education, health, food, work, housing, transportation, leisure, security, social security, among other essentials to the worker's life. The challenges for the social worker's work in the company are revealed in order to materialize the Professional Ethical-Political Project. Firstly, it is worth highlighting the incipient debate and production of knowledge about the work of social workers in companies in the area of Social Service, which contributes to the limits related to the theoretical-methodological, ethical-political and technical-operative improvement of professionals and students who work in this area. From the theoretical analysis on the hierarchy of work fields in Social Services, including the public and private sectors, it is clear that the company appears as an illegible place for social workers to work, disregarding all possibilities of Social Service in this socio-occupational space. The (in)visibility and hierarchy regarding the work of social workers in the company permeate training, knowledge production, professional practice and are transposed to users served by these professionals within the scope business. When examining the challenges that face the work of social workers in the company, we come to the conclusion that these factors make it difficult to materialize the Professional Ethical-Political Project. Therefore, it is necessary to incorporate this agenda into the organizational political spaces of Social Service in order to insert the debate about the work of social workers in companies in the training, production of knowledge and professional practice of social workers. |
