Resumo: The present research has as a theme the professional training in healthcare through the experience in the Program of Education through Work for Health Care/ PET-Health Care and has as an objective to analyze if/or in what way the experience of the ex-scholarship students of PET-Health Care contributes to a professional training in healthcare towards working in the Unified Health System (SUS). This is a qualitative study with quantitative data, grounded in the critical dialectical method. In this work it is evident the interest in problematize the insertion of Social Work students in the PET-Health Care Program. Beyond that, this study addresses how the participation in the program can potentiate the knowledge of the graduation students, transforming the students in professionals in condition to analyze critically the reality in the Health area. To study about the experience of this group of students that today are professionals, it was elaborated the research problem of this dissertation as: how the experience in PET-Health Care contributed to a professional training in health towards the Unified Health System (SUS), according to the perception of its graduates ? For this study, the universe goes beyond Social Work because it talks about the contributions of PET-Health Care to the professional training of ex-scholarship students of PUCRS, in the period between the year 2009 and 2013, who are currently workers in the Unified Health System (SUS) and the Program characterizes itself by its multidisciplinary approach. In this perspective, the research subjects were the scholarship students and the ex-scholarship students of the PET-Health Care/PUCRS program in the period between 2009 and 2013. This study was conducted in PUCRS with the support of the Coordination in Special Programs of the Academic Pro-Rectory of PUCRS. The gathering of data was done in three steps: (1) survey of the initial information; (2) on-line questionnaire and (3) interviews. Because it is a mixed study, the data analysis in its quantitative part was represented in graphics and charts and in its qualitative part was used the content analysis according to Bardin (2009). As a result it is perceptible that the methodology of integration between education and work benefits not only the students, but also the teachers and workers of Health Care because they need to develop their practices in this new way of making and teaching the future workers of Health Care. This research values the speech of its subjects, demonstrating that these professionals contribute so that theory and reality have the same meaning. In this proposal, the work becomes the locus of thinking, making, learning and transforming the outdated and fragmented practices, developing practices that consider the user as a subject capable of taking responsibility of its own care. The Methodology of Teaching in Social Work must cause curricular changes to transform the professional training in health care, the continuing and permanent education of health care workers and teachers, the development and learning of the multiprofessional work, the humanization of the services in health care service and also the integration between education and work.
