In activities of patrolling police officers are faced with certain situations that require prompt police intervention. For mediation and resolution of certain disputes not infrequently it is necessary to use the differentiated use of force, without, however, offering risk permanent physical integrity of the causative agent of "crisis." Using mechanisms aid social control less aggressive and more efficient is a goal to be achieved by security forces worldwide, particularly Brazilian. This study aims to enhance police work, especially with regard to the core business of patrolling and special operations, due to the great demand for use of technologies for minor offenses that are offered in defense of life, especially in which refers to instances with suicide and hostage takers. The paper presents a general approach on the Non-Lethal Technologies available in the domestic market, its historical origins and its improvement ahead to contemporary needs, and its correct use within the ranges of the progressive use of force linked to current legislation and also brings indices operational use of Non-Lethal Technologies.. |
