Resumo: |
Where do women who suffer violence go? In the city of Porto Alegre there is a place called Casa de Referência Mulheres Mirabal, a space where women go due to domestic violence or vulnerability and find an opportunity to build up citizenship. They have a greater experience than facing violence and develop autonomy, self-knowledge, discover their vocations, construct affections and skills. At the start of this work the importance of the path of women is presented, as well as the multiple voices, the silence and the suffering in the corporalities, and the contextualization of the advances of public policies for women in Brazil since the 1970s. Then, a historical and journalistic rescue of Casa Mulheres Mirabal is carried out, with a collection of reports and journalistic texts that echo the news of the occupation and of all the resistance, which demonstrates the ambiguous relationship of the State with Casa Mirabal. In a narrative tone, the experiences, paths, looks, voices, screams of children are brought, as well as reflections about the ethnographical observation and record of many stories, resistance and engagements. In the conclusion there is a reflection about the possibility of the theory of the Law Found on the Street being applied to the situation of Casa Mirabal as a production of "living law", noting the importance of claims to women's rights in this place, since it already is recognized as essential to the lives of many women and children who pass through there in a recovery period. It can be said that Casa Mirabal is in fact an effective and important alternative for fighting violence against women in Porto Alegre. |
