Resumo: |
This study observes and analyzes the relations between members of the science fiction community in the self-publishing platform for readers and authors Wattpad. First, we discuss issues such as the processes of authorship and reading and the way information circulates in contemporary society. Subsequently, we have detailed how the self-publishing platform Wattpad works and analyzed the relations established between users from the official profile of science fiction Wattpad SciFi. The theoretical framework is mainly based on Michel Foucault, Roland Barthes, Roger Chartier, Pierre Bourdieu, Walter Benjamin, Rachel Recuero and Alex Primo. To conduct this study, we used netnography as our methodological support, based on Kozinets and Hine. The resulting analysis points to the formation of a specific field where participants engage in reading and writing activities, seeking and giving encouragement to each other. We have found that the discussion of the writing process and literature itself also finds space, as the users look to improve their writing skills and are able to produce meanings from reading and by sharing personal experiences and senses. |
