This thesis is written in a relatively new area but one that is growing in Brazil. It is a book of creation, a book of poetry. This book is linked to the creative process that is made up of many ideas, for example, language, memory and identity. My book, ‘When Now Era Antes’ is a collection of poems written in two languages, English and Portuguese. The poems vary in theme but are linked and connected through the question of language and identity. The book also shows the process of learning a foreign language. The supplementary articles deal with: the process behind writing a poem (4 essays), the creative process, and language and identity.
