Resumo: |
This thesis is a recuperation and critical analysis of the television anthology created by Rod Serling, The Twilight Zone, and has as its main goal the perception of how the show fictionalises the tensions and fears regarding the construction of the self and of world projects, be they utopian or ideological, on the period after the Second World War and through the pervasiveness of media culture production and the expansion of television in the late 1950 s and early 1960 s. In order to do so we present a group of 19 episodes arranged in three axes that coherently articulate the themes of loneliness, the space adventure and the metamorphosis of modern man with the genres of Science Fiction and Utopia. In conclusion, The Twilight Zone is one of the signals of the way Science Fiction invades television and carries with it the prominence of all that is most resounding about the fears and anxieties of the modern times and, with that, expands the utopian thought and a critique of the ideological models also present there |
