In the present research we analyze the way in which the Jury selects people to serve as jurors in Brazil. We seek to investigate the decisive stages of this form of judgment through a historical approach, which enabled us to identify who are the authorities responsible for the enrollment of prospective jurors and what were the criteria used in accordance with pertinent legislation. Thus, we understand the problems faced since the early nineteenth century, when this system of justice administration in Brazil was implanted. Based on these indicators, we can depict the steps of the current dynamics of organization of the list of jurors as well as evaluating the participation of citizens through the data present in the years following the Jury s Reform with the implementation of the Law 11.689/08.
