Resumo: |
The recurrent periapical pathologies are a challenge to the clinician. The evolution of techniques and materials used for periapical surgery has increased the success rate of this treatment. The standardization of methods of sterilization and means of storage of extracted human teeth in banks is fundamental to the reliability of the results of the research. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of autoclaving and storage apicoectomyzed teeth and retrofilled with mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) in different ways. Were used 72 teeth (36 autoclaved and non-autoclaved 36), stored in three different media: distilled water at 4 ° C in distilled water in bone bank refrigerator at -85 ° C and 10% formaldehyde. All teeth were treated endodontically, apicectomyzed with drill at 90 ° to the long axis of the tooth, made with retro-retro-ultrasound and filled with MTA. Were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the quality of retro-filling through the quantification of space (gap) between the retrofilling material and the inner wall of the root channel and the chemical composition of the material and the dentin surface with energy- dispersive x-ray spectrometry (EDS).SEM analysis showed that the sterilization and storage of teeth in different media did not influence the marginal adaptation of MTA to the tooth. The analysis by EDS shows that the sterilization and storage of the teeth in different media did not alter the chemical composition of the tooth however, with respect to MTA, a significant increase of the chemical element silicon in autoclaved samples and on samples stored in distilled water at 4 ° C compared to samples stored in water in refrigerator bone bank at -85 ° C |
