Resumo: Some questions necessarily arise when one reflects on the teaching of law, for instance, that the meanings attributed graduates to teaching and learning in law? What meanings are attributed by them to the teaching activities and practical activities? Contributions that graduates can make to (re) think the legal education? Inquiries such as these led me to research the meanings assigned by the Law Course graduates of a university community of Santa Catarina. Investigating these meanings intend revealed aspects that could contribute to improving the teaching and learning of law. The research is based on the conceptions of man and society adopted by Socio-Historical Psychology. Participated in the first phase of the research - questionnaire - thirty-five graduates who completed the course in 2009, and in the second stage - interview - part three graduates. The analysis of data obtained through the questionnaire was based analysis procedures suggested by Lüdke and André (2007), and the interviews were analyzed according to methodological procedure proposed by Aguiar and Ozella (2006) called Core of Meanings. Through the meanings assigned by graduates can be seen that the management and the teachers of the law courses need to review the various concepts related to teaching and learning propaedeutic disciplines. Likewise, actions should be concentrated to increase that occurs in the joints of theoretical content with social reality, aiming to give graduates the ability to work safely, and criticality with respect to ethical values in the legal profession. The teaching of law using case law and case studies were indicated as method that contributes positively to enhancing the effectiveness of teaching and learning the law. The activities of teachers and students of the graduates earned several considerations, which require special attention to (re) think the teaching of law. This rethinking must take into account the meanings of graduates, specifically those intrinsic to the legal professions, namely listening, speaking knowledge, thinking critically, learn to write, knowing how to read, ponder and learn to know the reason
