Resumo: This work focuses on higher education in the undergraduate course in Administration, which is among the most numerous in Brazil, thus revealing it’s importance. The need for updating, already recognized, is reflected in the publication on the Ministry of Education (MEC) website of the new DCNs for the undergraduate course in Administration in July 2020. Based on changes and transformations arising from the fourth industrial revolution, also portrayed in the new DCNs, the role of the administrator has changed, the undergraduate course is in the process of change, and in this context, the set of skills that the professor must present to act as a professional professor in higher education in Administration has also changed. This work aims to identify and map the competences already present in the profile of professor in the undergraduate course in Administration and compare them with the professor competencies mentioned in the new DCNs. Through a survey carried out with 125 valid answers, the portrait of the skills of this professional was mapped, confirmed by the hypothesis test that they do have the knowledge, skills and attitudes for the exercise of function. Analyzing the highest averages, technical knowledge, ethics, and the use of active methodologies stand out, and the lower averages are portrayed in didactic-pedagogical and tecnological-digital development, pedagogical mediation and systemic vision. The atributes present in the higher averages, are present in the skills expected in the new DCNs. The lowest averages are also among attributes necessary to the exercise of the function according to the new DCNs and, therefore, must be increased in the professor through the Pedagogical Program of the Course (PPC) that will be developed according to the needs of each institution, thus keeping the professor, a key player in the teaching and learning process, up-to-date and with the necessary skills to perform the function
