Resumo: The career of Graciliano Ramos as a writer and public official of education, constitutes in the object of investigation of this research. The documental corpus consists of a correspondence relating to the sociability network that involved him on his professional performance, his literary memorialist Childhood works (1945) relevant records from the period of his childhood and its relation to his early education years, Memories of Prison (1953 ) for the period of his experience as a political prisioner and public official; Brief History of Republic (1962) political satire in a language made for children comprehension, historical and literary representation that analyzes and interprets the period between the Proclamation of Republic (1889) and the 1930 Revolution, a serie of articles and essays published in various newspapers between 1915 and 1953, and official documents. This study has the semiotic paradigm of Carlo Ginzburg as reference. The analysis of micro-history is taken here, in a small scale, and in the intensive study of documental material to achieve a recovery of the private, personal and experienced. The Literary texts taken as sources in this survey are intended to place Graciliano Ramos in context, between the 1930s and 1940s, examining clues and signs that reveal a political and educational positions recorded in his memorialist and children´s productions, crisscrossed with the whole documental corpus , for an analyses of his performance in the educational field
