Resumo: |
This doctoral thesis examines the impacts that the mediation of instant communication technologies (ICTs) have been causing in societal interactions on digital social networks. Based on the official publications of the profile of the then President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, on Twitter, during his presidential term (2019–2022), we aim to demonstrate the strategic use of communication to steer interactions, aimed at psychopolitical modulation through the connectivity between users of that network. Focusing on social interaction and technological mediation in communicational processes, we seek to point to discussions and epistemological premises of the symbolic interactionism, contrasting the strategies for stabilizing face-to-face meetings, broadly studied by scholars of this theoretical current, with the dynamics of societal interaction mediated by ICTs, devices, techniques and technologies used in these new communicational rites and, chiefly, their strategic uses. Additionally, we propose a discussion on how this process, with regard to the communication of the then President Jair Bolsonaro during his term, sought to mobilize affections, placing them within the phenomenon of political hatred, the topic of the research that culminated in the master's thesis of this researcher, which serves as the basis for this work. This research seeks to propose a methodology for extracting, processing and analyzing unstructured and multifocal data from Twitter, with open-source software and languages such as Python, Pandas, Iramuteq and NLTK, also used as a background to give visibility to the current obstacles faced by academic research within data sciences, regarding access to costly tools monopolized by large corporations, big techs, and governments, which hinders the democratic access for research and other purposes |
