A arte e sua potencialidade na abordagem STEAM

Resumo: This research has as its object of investigation the introduction of art as a field of knowledge within the STEAM approach. The research begins with the presentation of this approach, and the learning guidelines enhanced by STEAM within the Bandeirantes college, presenting as parameters previous experiences such as Bauhaus and other hybrid fields of art and education. This study intends to highlight the importance of art within education and its applications, mainly in scientific research as it introduces the creative factor and the critical view within the social panorama. As an effect of this transformation, we also realized how art can encourage group work. Furthermore, we also explicit the means through which the training of the teaching staff occurred during the process of modification for the STEAM approach. The research corpus encompasses the pedagogical proposal that arises from Dewey's studies and his philosophy of education, together with Ana Mae Barbosa who presents the triangular approach to education; and Santaella for Peirce's relational study with the semiotic triadic field. From Dewey's view, we relate art to the act of experiencing, understanding that education is not restricted to the transmission of knowledge as something finished, but that the knowledge and skills acquired by the student could be integrated into his life as a common citizen, with applications personal life. The research aims to understand what characterizes the application of STEAM in education, its proposals and methodologies developed through the introductory experience at Colégio Bandeirantes, showing the potential of art within education, expanded within the STEAM approach
