Resumo: |
This thesis aims to analyze some historical aspects of the construction of the female body, which occurred among the movements of sexual liberation between 1961 and 1985 in Brazil. The "Claudia" and "Nova" magazines are used in order to observe the new spaces that female sexuality could occupy starting from these movements, as well as the new meanings that the female body has had after liberation trends . Throughout these important journals, the ways in which the liberation of the bodies and sexuality were instigated to the readers are explored, as well as all the difficulties due to the current censorship during almost the entire given period. The path of liberation that appears in magazines depicts the breakdown of major paradigms about sex and the female body, while others paradigms stayed. These changes mostly concern the redefinition of emotions and feelings attached to the feminine, like love, pleasure, relationships between men and women, virginity, seduction and sexuality. Finally, it is intended to consider whether such changes have brought, in fact, new horizons of freedom for women |
