One of the most recent concerns in the language study field is to learn the sense effects transmitted by discourses that speak about work, in the most different knowledge areas: organizational/ administrative, medical, engineering, legal area, etc. This survey general goal is to learn the sense effects transmitted by discourses that speak about the professor work. I seek to understand specifically what sense effects keep moving questions such as: Do you work or only teach classes? asked regularly to the professors. A question that is immediately imposed: what is the professor image and its professional attributions that is being built? We understand that the specialized magazines consumed by educators are an important mass media support to built the construction and diffusion of the professor and his work speech. For that reason, to understand what are the images that keep moving about the professor image and the professor activities, I opt to develop this research analyzing the speeches of two important magazines, ABCeducatio and PRESENÇA Pedagógica, education specialized publication, national circulation, considered in a institutionalized field, what entails the constraint´s recognition of its own gender mass media. It was analyzed the covers, the editorial and some excerpts of the 2006, 2007 and 2008 editions as well as some clippings and respective images, considered relevant for this research goal. On the theoretical viewpoint, this work is anchored in three slopes: (i) on the language studies, on the developed perspective by Maingueneau (2002, 2005, 2006, 2008); (ii) on the studies towards to the work issue, from Schwartz (2007 e 2010) and Sennett (2007); (iii) on the studies that assume a critical position about education, based specifically in Giroux (1997) and Gentili (2008). From the global semantics study, proposed by Maingueneau (1984/2005), according all the plans are interconnected in its dimensions multiplicity, it was possible to observe the discursive working of the selected magazine. The ABCeducatio presents a more didactic character, its interlocutor does not have to be a reader/educator to comprehend the texts that circulate on it, differently to the ones at the PRESENÇA Pedagógica, that brings specialized articles, towards to the educational research, demanding its interlocutor to have an encyclopedic knowledge, that includes other knowledge areas, such as arts and literature. From the ethé apprehend of the analyzed magazines it was possible to gather the professor image produced on them: the ABCeducatio magazine has a oscillating presentation, sometimes as a missionary, others as a market service operator, neoliberal education hostage. In the PRESENÇA Pedagógica magazine, the professor image is more connected to the education issues towards to research, to the encyclopedic acknowledgments, therefore a reflexive professor |
